Ulysses Voyage @ The Grove

Woke up with an hankering for some Greek cuisine so we headed to the Grove. I avoid the Grove like the plague, because it is usually packed with tards and tourists, but during the weekdays, it ain't so bad.

We sat outside on the patio and it was sweltering hot. Later on, I saw that the temperature was 101. Well, shit, someone turn some fans on!

Both of us ordered ice water since nothing else seemed appealing.

Started off with the caviar hummus. Yummy as usual. How can you go wrong with caviar? I loved it, but packed the rest to go since we wanted to eat our entrees.

caviar hummus - $5.50

I had the traditional lamb gyro which came with skinny garlic fries and a green salad. The salad was meh at best, fries were decent and the gyro was pretty good. It was a hefty gyro and I could only eat 1/3 of it. The lamb was a bit overcooked, but other than that, tasty. I just polished the rest of it now for din din.

lamb gyro- $9.50

My DC has the 1/2 grilled salmon salad and liked it. At $8.95, it better be good.

Service was cool, they refilled our waters this time.

All this was $26.29 before tip. Good lunch, decent price.

I've been here a few times and I've had good dishes, including the lamb gyro. Lots of tourists make for an entertaining scene at the Grove. Have you been to Papa Cristo's in K-Town? I could seriously hurt myself at that place. You must try the fried cheese. Cute pic - CHOMP!

Haven't tried Stop N Cafe. I rarely go to the Promenade to begin with. Zankou is good, too; their tri-tip is yum!
